HDFC Regalia Gold: Lounge Access Now Requires ₹75,000 Quarterly Spend

15 January 2025·3 min read

Effective January 2025, HDFC Bank modified the lounge access policy for the Regalia Gold card — domestic lounge visits are now gated behind a minimum quarterly spend.

HDFC Bank quietly updated the lounge access terms for its popular Regalia Gold credit card starting January 2025. Cardholders must now spend at least ₹75,000 in the previous calendar quarter to unlock complimentary domestic lounge access in the current quarter.

Previously, Regalia Gold offered 12 domestic lounge visits per year with no such conditioning. The shift mirrors a broader industry trend — Axis Bank made similar moves with the Magnus in 2024, and ICICI followed suit with the Coral in mid-2024.

What this means for you: If you spend less than ₹75,000 per quarter on the card, you will be charged ₹2,500 + GST per lounge visit via Priority Pass or Dreamfolks.

Workaround: Some cardholders are pairing the Regalia Gold with an entry-level card that has unconditional lounge access (e.g., SBI SimpleClick or IDFC FIRST Millennia) to cover low-spend quarters.

HDFC has not announced a change in annual fee to compensate for the reduced benefit.
