Amex India has increased the Platinum charge card's annual fee from ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 starting April 2025, while adding some new lifestyle and dining benefits.
American Express India has revised the annual fee for the Platinum Charge Card to ₹60,000 + GST effective April 1, 2025 — a 20% increase from the previous ₹50,000.
In exchange, Amex has added: - Enhanced travel insurance cover: up to $500,000 overseas medical (up from $350,000) - Two additional Fine Hotels + Resorts benefits per year - Access to the American Express Global Lounge Collection expanded to include 20 more Indian airports via Dreamfolks - Complimentary EazyDiner Prime membership (₹4,999 value)
Net value assessment: The new benefits add approximately ₹8,000–₹12,000 in tangible annual value. For heavy travelers who already maximise the existing benefits, the fee hike is roughly break-even. For occasional users, the card's value proposition weakens.
Amex's Premium Rewards Gold card fee remains unchanged at ₹4,500 p.a.
